About Us. . .
Hello! We are Marla and Jessica Thoma, and we are a mother and daughter team who have been raising animals together for more than thirteen years. When our family moved to Tennessee, we had a dream of raising horses. We were breeding appaloosa horses until the horse market fell out and we could no longer keep so many horses. That is when we started raising goats. We first started with some mixed breed goats, and a lot were pygmies. Then we found the boer goat and bought a starter herd. We raised boers for about 6 years until we decided that the boer was just too hard to keep up with maintainance wise. That is when we fell in love with the Nigerian Dwarf goat. They were hardy, small, and came in such beautiful and varied colors. We don't have goats anymore unfortunately but plan to have another small herd in the future.
We started raising rabbits in the fall of 2010, and it started with two little Lionheads and a Mini Lop. Then it went from three to thirty as we looked for interesting colors, from harlequins to frosted pearls. We soon realized that these rabbits would not serve much purpose and sold them and started focusing on pedigreed, quality rabbits. We started in Lionheads but soon introduced Netherland Dwarfs to our program, and we are thrilled to have them!
Through out the years we have kept our love for horses. We currently have four, a spotted saddle horse, an appendix paint, and two miniatures. Jessica is a very avid english rider, she loves jumping and dressage and hopes to take her mare to shows in the near future.
